Aviation Operating System Division Process Leader

Giovanni (Nino) Atzei graduated in aerospace engineering at the Politecnico of Turin and joined Avio Aero in 1998. He spent his first 6 years in Engineering, on a number of roles ranging from reliability engineering to eventually being the Avio Aero Chief Design Engineer for the powerplant of the European fighter Typhoon. He grew an interest in project management and certified Project Manager Professional in the early 2000s. He then moved to Product Management, becoming the Avio Aero program manager for the GEnx (powerplant of the B787 Dreamliner and B747-8F\I). By 2012 he led all the commercial GE programs portfolio, managing revenues of 1.5B$ on a widely diversified portfolio. After 3 years in Supply Chain, where he covered executive positions in Materials and Strategic Footprint & P&E, he moved to Aviation headquarters in Cincinnati (USA). From 2016 to late 2018 he led the Fleet Program Management of the GE commercial fleets (30.000+ engines in the field) and led the Retrofit Operations of the Leap 1A and 1B Fleets. Since December 2018 he is back to Avio Aero where he now leads Margin Expansion Operations and at the same time serves as the Avio Aero Division Process Leader for the implementation of the Aviation Operating System
